With week one in the books its time to look forward to week two of the NFL season. One noticeable trend was that a lot of teams managed to put up a decent amount of points. Historically, the start of the season has always been more favorable to the offense. Will the defenses fight back or will the offenses have you over the moon this weekend?

Carolina Panthers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Carolina Panthers had an eventful opener against the Las Vegas Raiders losing 34-30. In a crazy game that saw many lead changes the Raiders came out on top. However, the Panthers showed that they are capable of putting points up in a game. Although, the Raiders defense is not the greatest, the Panthers do have some fantastic offensive weapons. Christian McCaffrey had an okay day by his standards, but still managed 96 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Robby Anderson made a huge impact on his Panthers debut scoring a touchdown with 115 yards. D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel are also good options for Teddy Bridgewater. Defensively, the Panthers are not a great side and to give up 34 points to the Raiders shows this. With a defense that struggles, the offense will have to push hard for points and so you will get higher scoring games.

The Bucs had a solid start but were always going to struggle against the New Orleans Saints. When you put lots of new parts together in a team it will take time for them to gel. Having said that, they still managed 23 points against one of the best defenses in the game. Tom Brady looked good in parts and the more time he has with his teammates the better they will get.

With players like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin the Bucs will always be able to score points. The running game looked good with Ronald Jones doing okay and Leonard Fournette will improve in time. Defensively, the Bucs showed they can be got at by giving away 34 points. Both teams are capable of scoring points in their games and it would be surprising if this was a dull game.

The Bet : over 47.5 total points in the game at 10/11

LA Rams vs Philadelphia Eagles

The LA Rams had a tough match-up in the first week of the season at home to the Dallas Cowboys. They managed to take the win thanks to two Malcom Brown touchdowns completing a 20-17 victory. Jared Goff had a solid game managing 275 passing yards showing signs of improvement from last year. The real star of the team was Malcolm Brown who had two key touchdowns and over 110 all purpose yards.

Robert Woods had a good week with six for eight receptions and 105 yards. Woods is a solid wide receiver who will make them numbers all season long. Cooper Kupp, Josh Reynolds, and Van Jefferson didn’t do much but will be better as the season goes on. Tyler Higbee had a few catches that also showed he can be another weapon for Goff. Defensively, the Rams sacked Dak Prescott three times and, Aaron Donald especially, looked ready to go.

The Philadelphia Eagles had an up and down afternoon being 17-0 up only to lose 17-27 to the Washington Football Team. Carson Wentz had a great start with two touchdowns but ended up getting sacked eight times during the game. With Miles Sanders out of the game, Boston Scott took most of the rushes but failed to produce.. Corey Clement also helped out but Sanders should be back for this game.

Dallas Goedert had the best game for the Eagles hitting 101 yards and a touchdown. Fellow tight end Zack Ertz also managed to get a touchdown but didnt have many yards. At wide receiver Jalen Reagor, Desean Jackson and Greg Ward all had receptions but failed to score. Defensively, the Eagles struggled with a team who are not very strong offensively. Also, the offensive line had a nightmarish game. Giving up the eight sacks to the Washington defensive line.

The Rams are a solid team who have underrated wide receivers and solid running backs. Goff doesn’t have to do much to get them points and the Eagles did not look good against a poor team. Going away to Philly will not be as daunting as normal given there wont be any fans in the stadium. If the Rams can beat the Cowboys they are more than capable of beating Eagles.

The Bet : LA Rams to win the match at 10/11

New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks

New England have had a tumultuous off-season with Tom Brady leaving after 20 years as QB. It was always going to be hard but bringing in Cam Newton has made things much easier. Newton looked like he was back to full fitness against Miami rushing 75 yards and getting two touchdowns. This was a new way for the Patriots to play but it shows that Bill Belichick is more than capable of adapting.

Sony Michel had an alright game at running back picking up a touchdown but James White didn’t do much. Julian Edelman had a solid game picking up 80 yards but the rest of the receivers didn’t really do much either. Defensively, the Patriots kept the Miami Dolphins to just 11 points and picked up three interceptions. The Patriots showed that although their all star QB has gone, they can still compete in this division.

The Seattle Seahawks have been a solid playoff team over the last few years and had a good start in week one. They went away to Atlanta and put up 38 points in a Russell Wilson masterclass. Wilson finished as the number one QB in week one with 322 yards and four touchdowns. Along with Wilson, Chris Carson also had a good week finishing with two touchdowns.

D.K Metcalf and Tyler Lockett both had good games and showed that they can both be effective for the Seahawks. Metcalf had 95 yards and a touchdown and Lockett had 92 yards during the game. Both are capable of big plays that can turn a game and will continue to do so during the season. The defence had an ok game with two sacks and an interception. They did give up 25 points but they were away to one of the best offences in the game in Atlanta. Both teams are capable of putting up a decent amount of points and it would be surprising to see a dull game.

The Bet : over 44.5 total points in the game @ 10/11

If you put all three bets together in a treble then you will get just short of 6/1
