It all break loose on October 3rd. As news came out via the social networks, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook that the XFL will return to the field in the spring, 2022. Part owner Dany Garcia tweeted out this on the subject:

I know most fans were looking for a return in 2021, but in the release, President Jeffrey Pollack tells why it’s important to get it right:

“For the love of football and for the safety of our players and fans, we’ll be back on the field in 2022. The opportunity in front of us, with our new ownership, is simply too big to rush back.  We want to do this properly with care and thought for everyone who loves football, especially our players, coaches, partners and fans.”

The league also released this on Twitter. To show that everything is moving forward and all of their accounts, even the XFL.com page has been updated:

The move allows the league to be sure that nothing gets rushed. They have already been very methodical about everything they’ve done so far. They feel that rushing back to get started in 2021 would be a disservice for everyone involved. Having the XFL return in the spring of 2022 makes the most sense. Maximizing every tool the new owners have. To make it as great as it can be for the players, coaches, and of course the fans.

Feels great though, it’s official. the XFL is BACK!
