Not a Vacation

Titans vs Everybody has became a battle cry of the Tennessee Titans and their fanbase. The Tennessee Titans practiced only two times in 16 days during the Covid issues that stormed the organization. Professional sports is one of the hardest professional occupations already and in sports time off isn’t always a good thing! No team practices, strength and conditioning and no game plans from coaches. Clearly it makes sense why every NFL expert had the Titans losing this game due to rust and fatigue. Other teams around the league had no problem dragging the Titans name through the mud as well, blaming the team for a virus like they could control it.

Football on Tuesday

After getting the Covid test in check, the Titans and Buffalo Bills finally got a game day Tuesday night. Football on a Tuesday sounds like a great idea every week! There was no surprise that the Titans were going to be the underdogs going into this game. Not only due to the time off, but always because the Bills are a very good football team. 8,000+ fans attended Nissan Stadium as Nashville finally got to see their beloved team live.

Tennessee got off to a hot start early with the interception by Malcolm Butler and got up 7-0 quickly. Buffalo responded with a score of their own after the Titans couldn’t seem to make the stops on 3rd down. The Titans offense was the best we’ve seen this year as they exploded for 42 points, most by the team by far this season. Ryan Tannehill, a sneaky MVP type performance, turned in a 95 grade on PFF going 21-25 and 3 touchdowns. Derrick Henry ran for 57 yards, his lowest mark so far this year, but scored twice in the game. Henry also gave us one of the most memorable moments so far of the 2020 season, when he completely manhandled Josh Norman, who may still be in the air.

Titans vs Everybody

After a rough two weeks for the Titans organization, their families and for their fans they never wavered. What we saw on Tuesday night was a team that knew “We all we got” and played angry against the Bills. There may not have been a team in the league that was beating this Titans team Tuesday night. The win puts them in a top spot in the AFC with a matchup against division foe Houston Texans next on the schedule. Division games are always close and tricky so the Titans are going to have to be careful and they have an extremely short week ahead of them. Another mind blowing stat to end this one, as the Titans seem to be on a “historic” pace here. For the Titans and their fans, it truly seems to be “Titans vs Everybody”.

Titans Brawl broke down their thoughts on the game in this weeks podcast and also their thoughts on the team moving forward. Sam, Sal and Nick all seem to believe the third down conversations will have to be slowed down. Getting Adoree Jackson back from IR will definitely make a difference. Catch more from the Titans Brawl team below in the tweet as they coverage all things Titans.
