With what looks to be a finalized deal for Cleveland with Austin Hooper, maybe they look to shop David Njoku.

In case you live under a rock the Browns will be signing Falcons TE Austin Hooper. The big question for us Jaguars fans is not about Austin Hooper but about former first-round pick David Njoku. Should the Jags make a trade for him?

Something to note with this though is that Browns GM Andrew Berry worked with Sashi Brown when Sashi was the GM for the Browns, they drafted David to be their tight end. However, with the signing of Austin Hooper could signal them wanting to move on from the tight end out of Miami. Another interesting note is Kevin Stefanski’s offense, they love to run 2 TE sets.

The question for the Browns is if they still believe in David, maybe the market can be strong for him.

If they do plan on shopping David, the Jags should be the first team to call them up. Jay Gruden back in Washington loved using the tight end position with the likes of Jordan Reed. The tight end is also good for a young QB and with Gardner Minshew heading into his second year, the Jags should look to provide him a good tight end. James O’Shaughnessy who was injured for most of the season, lead the team in receptions at the tight end position.

Dave Caldwell may also not want to give up on 3rd round pick Josh Oliver, who was more known to be a project coming out. I doubt they would want to give up on him after just one year. However, Jay Gruden may stress on them to try and address the tight end position.

Whatever happens, this is one of the many needs on this roster. What do you guys think will happen with the tight end position? If David Njoku is out there should we make a push for him?
