Should He Stay or Should He Go? Tom Brady Likely Isn’t Going Anywhere

The skepticism around Tom Brady has been at the forefront for the last couple of weeks but there’s still no reason to believe that the greatest quarterback of all time is leaving the Patriots.
On Saturday afternoon Tom Brady and best friend Julian Edelman made a public appearance as the two attended the UNC vs. Syracuse basketball game in upstate New York. Along with friend Jimmy Fallon, the two Patriots players sat curtsied to watch a pair of ACC teams square off. As the camera panned over to the trio, the words “he’s coming back, he’s coming back” from Edelman can clearly be seen along with a slight smirk.

I don’t know what else you need to see. Tom Brady is coming back to the Patriots.

This public appearance was one of the first by Brady since entering free agency, along with the Super Bowl appearance where the quarterback was honored for the NFL’s all-time 100 team. There was also the Hulu add in which Tom Brady said “Me? I’m not going anywhere.” Some say this was Brady’s way of telling fans that he won’t be retiring but that’s not true because he said that he wouldn’t be retiring during his last press conference of the year after the Patriots lost to the Titans in the AFC Wild Card game.
Need more reasons why? Despite what you may hear from various networks, most analysts may be putting out information received by Brady’s camp in order to let the Patriots know that Brady is serious about his desired weapons. While money hasn’t been a huge issue for Brady in terms of where he signs, he has been adamant about upgrading weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Brady seemed frustrated with the lack of talent available to truly win last season. While New England had a great regular season, the lack of offensive talent held them from being a legit contender.
Brady clearly not liking Edelman here because he wants the Patriots to feel threatened that he’ll actually leave. I would be upset too if I wanted the Pats to take me seriously.
At the end Brady says “this guy.” Not “He’s not” for clarification.

If Tom Brady decides to sign with either the Radiers or Chargers, he will have to beat phenom Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs twice a year just to make the playoffs while competing in the same division. Brady did beat Mahomes twice in one year during the 2018 season and Brady’s competitive side may take that challenge and run with it. However, from a logistics standpoint Brady would much rather compete in the struggling young AFC East as opposed to the AFC West. The team that makes the most sense for Brady, other than the Patriots are the Tennessee Titans.
It should be noted that even if Brady decides to test free agency and not sign with the Patriots on March 16th, he can still re-sign with the Patriots anytime before the season starts.
Regardless, Tom Brady has a decision to make before his March 16th deadline. Will the quarterback stay in New England where he’s been for his entire NFL career? Or will the quarterback test the waters in free agency to sign somewhere else? Only time will tell and time is almost up.
