- 2020 NFL Free Agency

The Panthers and former TE star Greg Olsen ended on a similar note. The Panthers claiming one thing and Olsen coming out to clarify what really happen. Cam Newton let it be known via Instagram that he did not want out of Carolina and that the Panthers were the ones who wanted to move on. The relationship between Newton and the Panthers seems to be ending on a not-so-great note as seen in the Instagram comment from Newton below.

The Panthers owner Dave Tepper did, however have some nice words to say to Newton after forcing him out of Carolina. Tepper called Newton a an “All-time great” in Carolina.

What’s next for Cam Newton?
Newton will be moving on after 9 seasons with Carolina. Most notably when Cam Newton won NFL MVP in 2015 when he threw for almost 4,000 yards and 35 touchdowns and took the Panthers to the Super Bowl. Since then, Cam Newton has been battling injuries and hasn’t returned to the same star-studded form he once had. Having almost a full year to recover and improve, Newton looks to rebound in a big way.
There are many teams in need of a quality starting QB such as the Bears, Chargers, Buccaneers, etc. Cam Newton is 30 but has been battling injuries. Newton can get back to his old ways with a change of scenery and new coaches to help him back on that path
Teddy B to the Panthers?
The Panthers are looking to hit the reset button and get their team back to their winning ways without Newton. They an opportunity to get in on the free agent QB pool as they already seem to have locked up Teddy Bridgewater.
The Panthers and Teddy Bridgewater are negotiating a 3-year contract in the $60 million range, per source. The deal is not done as they work out details but it is expected to be complete when new league year opens Wednesday.

Regardless of if this deal goes through or not, Cam Newton will not be returning to Carolina after 9 years in a Panthers uniform.
