How significant would it be if Billy Turner is absent at Right Tackle for the Green Bay Packers, who will face a vaunted Vikings front seven in Minneapolis ?

Green Bay Packers

Offensive Lineman Billy Turner was listed as doubtful on the injury report, as a result of a knee injury which limited him in practice all week. Long time Green Bay Packer Bryan Bulaga (Iowa), signed a lucrative  free agency deal with the Los Angeles Ram this off season, leaving a major hole to fill on the Packers’ offensive line.

In his stead, Green Bay will most likely rely on 2020 free agent signee Tackle Rick Wagner. A former Detroit Lion who played 12 for their NFC North rivals last season.

Defensive lineman Montravius Adams, and inside linebacker Oren Burks practiced in a limited  capacity this week. The Packers are looking for these two to take the next step in their maturation going into 2020. Montravius is doubtful for Sunday with a toe. Burks, on the other hand, a limited participant Wednesday with a groin. He practiced fully both Thursday and Friday. Hopefully, Burks will be able to play on Sunday, as close to 100% as possible. The team will now rely on Burks and Ty Summers to step in for training camp standout, rookie Kamal Martin. Martin was the likely starter next to Christian Kirksey before his designation to the injured reserve September 6th.

Minnesota Vikings

Danielle Hunter will be on injured reserved for at least a few weeks, delivering a major blow to the Minnesota Vikings front seven. A starter since 2017, Hunter has played a huge role in the Minnesota Vikings defensive dominance. Hunter had a total of 97 pressures in 2019, according to pro football focus. That would be good for third most in the NFL behind only Nick Bosa (102) and Za’Darius Smith’s 107. Hunter recorded two sacks on Aaron Rodger in two contest last season, adding 9 tackles as well.

Aside from Hunter, The Minnesota Vikings had no other injuries to announce before Sunday’s match up. It will be interesting to see how the right side of the Packers’ offensive line holds up. Will Hunter’s absence offset the uncertainty the Packers face along their O-Line going into week one ?
