Which Players are you using to Build your DraftKings Week 17 Roster?

The end of the regular season is here, which unfortunately means that football season is almost over. First off, I would like to congratulate all Fantasy Football winners. It has been a grind this year with so many unknowns and challenges. DraftKings Week 17 brings a very unique challenge for doing your DFS research. There are so many teams where the game does not matter to them. Will their starters play the whole game? What about the playoff-bound teams? We have already seen Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Ben Roethlisberger ruled out for Sunday. Who else will be riding the bench this week?

Let’s take a look at some plays I will be using for DraftKings Week 17.

Up first is Lamar Jackson ($8000) visiting the Cincinnati Bengals. Jackson has looked better over his last four matches. He has scored over 20 FPPG and has also thrown eight touchdowns during these games. Add in his four rushing TDs and that gives him three a game. The Bengals have been playing a lot better, but will have trouble slowing down this run-first attack by the Ravens.

Secondly, we have Ryan Tannehill ($7000) traveling to Houston to play the 24th ranked Texans. The Titans need a big win to get into the playoffs. Houston is just the team to face off against in Week 17. Their defense was just torched by the Bengals last week. Brandon Allen threw 371 yards and two touchdowns. Additionally, in week six, Tannehill threw 366 yards and four touchdowns against the Texans.

Lastly, Kirk Cousins ($6300) is a slightly cheaper option playing in Detroit. With Dalvin Cook out, look for Cousins to be throwing the ball a lot. He has scored over 20 FPPG in five of his last six games. Detroit has allowed the third-most passing yards against at 289.9 a game. Buyer beware, this game means nothing, so hopefully, Cousins stays in all game.

Derrick Henry ($9400) gets the nod vs the 32nd ranked Texans rush defense. Houston is letting opposing rushers gain over 150 yards on the ground per game. Henry has 20+ carries in five of his last six matches. Stacking both Tannehill and Henry is a good play, however, it will take over 32% of your salary.

Next is Jonathan Taylor ($7400) versus the Jaguars and their 30th ranked rush defense. Taylor has four straight games with over 19 fantasy points, including six touchdowns. Taylor has also averaged 18 touches a game. Furthermore, the Jaguars are allowing over 145 yards a game on the ground this season.

With Phillip Lindsay on the IR, Melvin Gordon ($5700) is a sneaky value play. Last week he rushed 16 times for 79 yards. It would be nice if he could sneak a few more receptions in. Especially, where the Raiders just allowed Myles Gaskin to gain 169 yards on 19 touches.

Some other nice matchups for Week 17 include David Montgomery ($7700), Ezekiel Elliott ($6400), D’Andre Swift ($6300), Tony Pollard ($5900), and Darrell Williams ($4800).

Going with a duo from Minnesota, as both Justin Jefferson ($7600) and Adam Thielen ($7400) are strong plays facing the Lions. Each is scoring 18 FPPG and the Lions rank 31st against receivers. Again with Cook OUT, the Vikings’ pass attack will be heavily relied upon.

Sticking with pairs, Brandin Cooks ($6900) and Keke Coutee ($5600) are coming in hot. Cooks, fresh off a 30 point performance against the Bengals, looks to surpass the 1000 yard mark versus the Titans in Week 17. Cooks has scored double digits in nine of his last ten games. When he faced off against the Titans in Week Six, Cooks caught all nine of his targets for 68 yards and a score. Coutee has also scored double digits in four straight games. The Titans are allowing 280 passing YPG.

T.Y. Hilton ($5800) plays the 24th ranked Jaguars. T.Y. has at least six targets in four straight matches. Even though Hilton has not had the best year in terms of production, Philip Rivers continues to look for him. Back in Week One, Hilton was targeted nine times but only grabbed four of them. Playoffs are on the line, and look for the Colts to put up some yards and points against this Jaguars defense.

Other favorable matches for Week 17 include Mike Evans ($7500), Chris Godwin ($6600), CeeDee Lamb ($5200), Russell Gage ($5100), Zach Pascal ($4200), and Darius Slayton ($4100).

First, let’s talk about Mark Andrews ($5800). With Lamar heating up, Andrews has been a beneficiary. He has scored double-digits in five straight games. The Bengals are not the best at guarding tight ends. They rank 29th and are allowing over 250 passing YPG. Additionally, in Week 16, Watson threw for 324 yards against this suspect Bengals pass defense.

Robert Tonyan ($5000) plays the 31st ranked Bears. Tonyan has scored at least ten points in his last five of six games. In Week 12, the Bears allowed Tonyan to catch five for 67 yards including a touchdown.

Finally, we have Mike Gesicki ($4200) playing the Buffalo Bills. He is averaging 17 FPPG over his last four games. The Bills look to be resting players here in Week 17. This should give an added boost to the Dolphins’ offensive players. Furthermore, in Week Two, the Bills gave Gesicki all kinds of freedom. He hauled in eight of his 11 targets for 130 yards and a score.

The Ravens ($4200) will be a popular play based on the opponent in Cincinnati. You may have to tinker with your lineups to play them, as they are the most expensive DST on the slate. However, I am looking at some other cheaper options who are facing backup quarterbacks. The Dolphins ($2900), Chargers ($2800), and Browns ($2500) all fit this idea and should be able to put some points up on the board in Week 17.

Week 17 Sample DraftKings Lineup – $49,800
