DraftKings Thanksgiving Day Lineups – Who will win you the Money?

Turkey day is here and it is time to build your DraftKings lineups! Enjoy some sit back time and watch some Week 12 NFL football. With the regular three matches for the day, we will get to see Houston Texans at Detroit Lions to kick us off. This has the highest point total of the day, set at 51, with the Texans’ favored by three.

Once you read some more, you will see I will be targeting a lot of this game! Next up, Washington travels to Dallas, with the Cowboys predicted to pull off the W. Last, we have a classic AFC North battle, with the Ravens visiting the unbeaten Steelers. On to some lineup advice for this Thanksgiving day!

QUARTERBACKS

First up is Deshaun Watson ($7400) playing the #18 ranked defense against opposing QBs. The Lions rank in the top 10 for allowing the most passing yards and points against per game. Watson is going to be heavily owned, but I think you will have to play him so you do not miss out on the potential big game!

The only other quarterback I am looking at is Ben Roethlisberger ($6600). Over his last three games, he has thrown nine touchdowns to go with over 900 yards passing. On a short week, this game could be low scoring, although I do not think the Steelers will get their run game going. Playing at home, the Steelers’ pass game should be able to march the field against the Ravens.

RUNNING BACKS

D’Andre Swift ($6500) is my #1 RB on the slate. The only question is, will he be available? He had a limited practice on Tuesday, so there is some hope. Both of these teams in this matchup are allowing over 140 yards a game on the ground. If he is out, Adrian Peterson ($4700) will have some value. Don’t sleep on Kerryon Johnson ($4300) if Swift misses the game either.

Back to the other side in this match up with Duke Johnson ($5700). With double-digit carries in three straight games, this will be his last chance to score big before David Johnson potentially returns to the lineup. Duke has been disappointing, but the Lions rank 31st against backs, giving up just under 150 yards over their past fours matches.

Last, Gus Edwards ($4000) should be in your lineups. First, the price is right. Second, both J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram are out with Covid. And lastly, in week eight against these Steelers, Edwards carried the rock 16 times for 87 yards and a score. I will take that on Thanksgiving night!

WIDE RECEIVERS

Terry McLaurin ($7000) is the highest salary of the slate and for good reason. Terry has seen 35 targets over the last four games, going for at least 84 yards a game. The Cowboys have given up over 300 passing yards over the past two games. Scary Terry is primed to have a big day!

Stacking the next wideout, Will Fuller ($6400) makes the cut! After scoring in six straight games he has been shut out over the last two. Although one was that crazy windy day in Cleveland. Last week versus the Pats, Fuller caught six of eight for 80 yards. Fuller matches up against the 20th ranked defense against WRs according to DraftKings.

Feeling Lucky? Why not throw another Texan wideout on the roster! Brandin Cooks ($5300) is definitely a nice value play on Thanksgiving day. Cooks is not posting massive numbers but is averaging 13 a game. The thing I like the best is Cooks is still heavily relied upon in the passing attack, being targeted 31 times over the last four games.

TIGHT ENDS

First, let chat about T.J. Hockenson ($4700) against the Texans. Even in a horrible game last week against Carolina, T.J. hauled in four of seven targets for 68 yards. Throw in a score, and that would have been great value! The Texans have been average against the position this year, but Hockenson sees a lot of volume. He has 40 receptions on the year, good enough to be the #4 TE.

To save a little money, Eric Ebron ($4100) has a solid chance to find the end zone again. He has scored in three of his last four games, including last time playing these Ravens. Ebron is in the top ten for both targets and touchdowns. Again, give me some of that volume!

DST

The Steelers($4200) are always in play. I feel like you are getting them at a discount as they are playing the Ravens. I am not worried about that. The Steelers D continue to wreck havoc on opposing teams and are in the top eight in all scoring categories.

For a cheaper D, to allow your studs to get in the lineups, I am looking at is the Washington Football Team ($3700). Sure Dalton threw three touchdowns last week, but WFT has been solid Defense for the most part. They are top ten in sacks and interceptions and should be able to create a few chances in this one.

SLEEPERS

With only three games on the late, you will definitely want to fire up some low ownership plays:

  1. Alex Smith ($5400) up against the 21st ranked D. Smith is only scoring 12 ppg, but there is a small potential here that this game actually gets a little scoring going!
  2. As mentioned above, watch for the Lions backfield issues, you may find some value there.
  3. Keke Coutee ($3400) could be the cheap play you are looking for! With Cobb out, Keke will be on the field more against this weak defense. He will have a shot to find ay dirt!
  4. The Texans D ($2700) may be worth throwing in. If Stafford plays like last week, J.J. Watt and company will be able to get after him all day, in hopes of capitalizing on some turnovers!

Enjoy the Football, stay safe, and have a good weekend! Good luck in your DraftKings Turkey Day Shoot outs!
