Its been another big weekend of NFL action but they have left the most exciting game till last. The Super Bowl champs, the Kansas City Chiefs are travelling to Baltimore to face the Ravens. The 2018 MVP Patrick Mahomes will be going up against the 2019 MVP Lamar Jackson. Both teams have started 2-0 and are looking like Super Bowl contenders again this year. The Ravens are 20/37 favorites to win the game whilst the Chiefs are 33/20. Can the Super Bowl champs stop the Ravens?

The Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have had a decent start to their season, but not as spectacular as we all expected. They are 2-0 but the problem with being Super Bowl champs is that everyone expects you to win all the time. So far, Kansas City has beaten the Houston Texans at home 34-20 and the LA Chargers 23-20 away. Patrick Mahomes has passed for 513 yards and five touchdowns in his first two games. His performances have been solid but not what we have come to expect. At running back, Clyde Edwards-Helaire had a great opening game but struggled against the Chargers. It will be interesting to see how he copes against one of the best defences in the game.

The wide receiver core have been good in the first two weeks and Tyreek Hill has been the standout. He has 145 yards and two touchdowns through two games and is always capable of making big plays. Sammy Watkins also has had 93 yards and a touchdown but most of that was in week one. Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson are also good attacking options for Mahomes. Arguably the biggest attacking threat for Mahomes is tight end Travis Kelce. Kelce has had 140 yards and two touchdowns, scoring one in each game. Defensively, the Chiefs have been solid but not great giving up 20 points in each game.

The Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have looked a very good team in the first two weeks beating the Cleveland Browns at home and the Houston Texans away. Its not just the wins that have been impressive but the way they have won. Beating the Browns 38-6 and the Texans 33-16 is impressive in anyone’s view. Lamar Jackson has looked good in the first two games with only Russell Wilson having a better completion percentage. Also Jackson has rushed for 99 yards showing that he is the ultimate double threat QB.

Helping Jackson out in the run game is Mark Ingram and J.K Dobbins. Dobbins has had 70 yards and two touchdowns over the first two weeks which is a good start for a rookie. Ingram has also pitched in with 84 yards and a touchdown showing how strong their run game is. Jackson’s biggest receiving threat is tight end Mark Andrews who has had 87 yards and a touchdown. Although this is a bit below his standards of last year he is still a vital part of the offense.

At wide receiver the Ravens main threat is Marquise Brown. Baltimore also employs the crafty Willie Sneed and height/weight/speed freak Miles Boykin. Brown has gone for 143 yards in the two games, whilst Sneed has had 93 yards and a touchdown. Boykin is not involved as much but has still managed to amass 75 yards. The defense for Baltimore is stacked and it shows as they have only given up 24 points in the two games. They are already the number one ranked defense over the first two games and that will continue through the season.

The game and The Bet

This is the game of the week and the eyes of the world will be watching Monday Night Football. This could be the AFC Championship game in a few months time. So far, the Chiefs have not looked as strong as last year despite being 2-0. The Ravens have looked very strong against some solid teams in Cleveland and Houston. The Ravens strength is their run game and they will lean on that again. The Chiefs struggled against the run when they played the LA Chargers giving up 157 yards in the game. Due to this, the bet is Lamar Jackson to score a touchdown anytime. At 10/11 he is a good price and the Ravens have a lot of designated run plays for him.

The Bet : Lamar Jackson to score a touchdown anytime at 10/11
